World War 1 commemorations

Pupils, parents, staff and friends of Hutton CE Primary School had a fabulous time at their World War 1 ‘Trenches Tea Party’ last week. The whole school joined together to celebrate the end of 2 weeks spent learning all about World War 1 and ‘Life 100 Years Ago’. Pupils had visits from local historians and British Legion members, as well as visiting the village Memorial and the Legion Room in Hutton Village Hall.

Parents helped the children with their homework by finding out about their family’s involvement in WW1, with some fascinating discoveries. At the tea party celebrations, all pupils joined in with songs and poetry from the era. The tea party raised a fantastic £138 for the Royal British Legion.
